Question 2

What to expect at your dinner

Accepted Answer

Each dinner is designed to feel natural and easy.

You'll be seated with a small group (typically 4–7 people).
Tables are generally grouped by similar age ranges.
We provide conversation starters to help get things flowing. You can find them anytime in My Reservations.
No pitches, no pressure—just good conversations.
After dinner, you're invited to an optional after-dinner hangout where guests from all tables come together.

When you arrive

Your restaurant and table details will be included in your restaurant reveal SMS and email.

If you don't immediately spot your group, ask the host or restaurant staff for your table.

Missed the dinner?

You're still welcome to join the after-dinner hangout.

We'll share the location during the evening, and you can ask for the group associated with your dinner club when you arrive.

How it Works (TL;DR):

Six strangers pay to meet for dinner to build community within your network. Zero hosting, planning, or ops required.

Guests take a short personality quiz to get matched
They pick a date & pay to book a seat (e.g. $16/person)
River assembles groups of 6 matched by vibe and location
We book the restaurant, send reminders, and sort every detail
Your community bonds over dinner while the revenue rolls in

What’s Included: DNNR orchestrates your branded dinner experiences. All you have to do

Question 4

Apply to be an ambassador

Accepted Answer

Ambassadors help create a welcoming dinner experience, capture photos and videos, and share the night on social media.

Ambassador applications are submitted for specific dinners. You can apply for more than one upcoming dinner, but each dinner requires a separate application.

Apply for your first dinner

Select Ambassador on the community dinner club page.
Complete your ambassador profile and application questionnaire.
Review the ambassador responsibilities and confirm that you can commit to them.
Choose the dinner you want to apply for.
Select your preferred event location.
Select Submit application. You’ll receive an email confirming that your application was received. The community team will then review it and email you once a decision has been made.

Some communities may allow you to apply for upcoming dinners before they are publicly available.

Apply for additional dinners

Once your ambassador profile has been saved, you won’t need to complete the full questionnaire again. Visit your ambassador page and find Apply for an upcoming dinner or Would you like to apply for another dinner? Then:

Select the dinner.
Choose your preferred event location.
Select Submit application. You can submit applications for multiple upcoming dinners.

A community manager may also email you about an ambassador opportunity. Invitations are optional—you can apply directly from your ambassador page whenever applications are open.

Question 5

Questionnaire Scoring Methods

Accepted Answer

Each questionnaire question can use a different scoring method depending on the type of groups you want to create.

These are optimization preferences for the algorithm — not strict guarantees. If it’s possible to satisfy them while balancing the rest of the dinner, the algorithm usually will.

Same

Group people who answered similarly.

Use this when you want people seated with others who selected the same answer.

Example:
“Looking to make friends” → seated with others who selected the same reason for joining.

Different

Create more diverse tables.

Use this when you want a mix of answers at each table.

Example:
Mixing introverts and extroverts, or different hobbies/interests.

Cohesion

Keep people near others who are similar on an ordered scale.

Use this when answer options follow a natural progression or hierarchy.

Example:

CEO
VP
Director
Senior
Junior

In this case, the algorithm will try to seat people close in seniority together.

At Least K Of

Ensure at least a certain number of people with a specific answer per table.

Use this when you want representation from a specific group at every table.

You’ll also need to select the answer as the “K-th option.”

Example:
“At least 1 person who selected ‘New to the city’ per table.”

Category Balance

Distribute selected answer categories as evenly as possible across tables. Use this when you want a balanced mix of specific gro
